 I used to be very active prior to my back surgery in 2011, playing lacrosse, field hockey, and working out regularly. I grew up with the diagnosis of scoliosis. In May 2011, I had no choice but to go through with a spinal fusion of almost my entire spine due to lung restrictions. After surgery, I was afraid to work out. I tried the gym, but I had no one to guide me because I knew this time was different. I struggled for 3 years trying to convince myself there was nothing to be afraid of. Then I met Ed. Ed welcomed me with open arms and I explained to him my fears. Since I have conquered every fear I have ever had and now can participate and never thought I would be able to. I am feeling stronger everyday. I honestly never thought I would feel as strong as I did prior to surgery, and I am proving myself wrong every day.  Throughout my life I have always been involved with sports and working out.   I don't think I could ever write enough positive things about this place. First off, I hated working out, and having back issues that made most days difficult to perform simple normal routines wasn't exactly a method of encouragement to hit the gym. However, after one day of working out with Ed, I was hooked. The environment is friendly, upbeat, and everyone promotes one another. Skills range from beginners to those who have been working out for years. No one belittles you or makes you feel insignificant. Everyone is a team player and promotes success.  Coach Ed does a fantastic job! He is personal, down to earth and ultimately and most sincerely, just wants to see you become a stronger and healthier you.
